Week of October 19th...

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  There have been some cold kids in the morning.  It looks like it is going to be a cool week ahead!

Our Halloween party will be Friday at 2 pm.  We will begin changing into our costumes at 1:30 pm.  The school wide parade begins at 2 pm.   We'll finish up in our room with snacks before changing back into our clothes.  Please remember there are no weapons allowed.  If you have any questions, let me know.

Week of October 12th...

What a fun day today!  Joe Winters, meteorologist from KCRG TV9, came to talk to the 2nd graders about weather.  We enjoyed his visit!  We practiced our Polka Dots Pants dance a few times so we were ready to bust a move before the Walk-a-thon.  Then we enjoyed several laps around the school.  Fun day!!

A huge thank you to the Stewart Boosters for our popcorn and juice snack Friday.  2nd grade won the grade level Box Tops contest so we were treated to a yummy snack!  If you see Scott Lujan from State Farm Insurance, be sure to thank him for the awesome water bottles!

There were several very important papers sent home this week.  Please make sure to check your child's folder each night.

Week of October 5th...

What a busy week!  Fire Prevention Week and Homecoming week all in the same five days is enough to keep us on our toes!  We had many schedule changes this week and the kids handle all the extra excitement well!

Tuesday we started our day with a fire drill and five fire safety stations.  Please be sure to check out the photo tab for pictures from our day!

Friday we enjoyed a pep assembly with the band and cheerleaders.  Then two cross country runners and a football player came to read to us.  It was fun to see so many students participate in the dress up days!

Mrs. Hall visited us twice this week to do some lessons on creativity and thinking outside the box.  We also enjoyed our first guidance time of the year with Mrs. Knowles and Ms. Sievers.

Wednesday is a 1:10 dismissal.

So far it is looking like another wonderful weather week coming up!
